Longtime Syracuse Sportscaster Jack Morse Passes Away

Longtime SYRACUSE radio and TV sportscaster JACK MORSE died THURSDAY (11/14) in MANLIUS, NY at 84, reports SYRACUSE.COM.
MORSE started his career as a senior in high school at WINR-A/BINGHAMTON, then worked at WOLF-A/SYRACUSE while attending SYRACUSE UNIVERSITY. Still in school, he joined WHEN-A/SYRACUSE in 1959, adding duties on WHEN-TV (now WTVH) in 1966, becoming Sports Director of the TV station in 1972. He left the station in 1983 and after a brief stint in local cable television, he joined ABC affiliate WIXT-TV in 1984. In 1997, he joined PHIL MARKERT's show on WTLA-A-WSGO-A. He also called SYRACUSE CHIEFS minor league baseball for five seasons in the 1960s.
