This week's WESTWOOD ONE blog post touts AM/FM radio's effectiveness in driving retail sales, both at brick-and-mortar and e-commerce sites.
The post points to NIELSEN research showing radio's 90% reach among adults 25-54 in the week leading up to THANKSGIVING and 91% of the same demographic for CHRISTMAS week; EDISON RESEARCH's Share of Ear study showing 88% of in-car time devoted to AM/FM radio; and an RAB/DIAL REPORT study showing "substantial store traffic lift" from AM/FM campaigns, including 7% for home improvement retailers, 23% for quick service restaurants, and 32% for beauty retailers and car dealers . As for e-commerce, the post cites three studies showing a boost from radio, including for AMAZON Prime Day.
