Herb McCord, Granum Communications President And Former Greater Media Exec, Passes Away

Herb McCord Passes

HERB MCCORD, the longtime radio executive who co-founded GRANUM COMMUNICATIONS, has passed away. He was 77 and had suffered from heart and kidney problems; his wife JUDI predeceased him in SEPTEMBER. MCCORD’s family was at his side when he passed.

MCCORD served as GM at CKLW-A/WINDSOR-DETROIT in the 1970s and as VP/Radio at GREATER MEDIA in the 1980s. He founded GRANUM in 1990 and sold the company's stations in 1996. He was honored by the BROADCASTERS FOUNDATION OF AMERICA with the WARD L. QUAAL Leadership Award in 2015.
