What would a reality show staged by public radio look and sound like? UNIVERSITY OF WASHINGTON News-Talk KUOW/SEATTLE has the answer with its "reality radio contest" pitting three listeners against each other in a battle to show who can reduce their carbon footprint the most.
The three contestants in "The Biggest Carbon Loser" will be given a month to work with a "carbon coach" to reduce their carbon impact, keeping tabs on travel, diet, and energy use with an online carbon footprint calculator.
Applications from residents in KING, PIERCE, or SNOHOMISH COUNTIES, WA will be accepted through DECEMBER 15th with the contest taking place in JANUARY and FEBRUARY. Households can compete as a team, and the grand prize will be a gift basket of public radio swag, SEATTLE ART MUSEUM tickets, and a NEW YORK TIMES subscription.
