SETON HALL UNIVERSITY's student-run Active Rock WSOU/ SOUTH ORANGE, NJ and locally owned TITO’s Burritos & Wings have joined forces to create a new dish inspired by the station’s dial position at 89.5. The WSOU staff and the chefs at TITO’s collaborated to cook up the “89 Fries Quesadilla.”
The station and TITO's previously created the “Fat DJ Burrito," and the 89 Fries Quesadilla came from a suggestion by WSOU sports director DALTON ALLISON.
“I’ve been listening to WSOU since I was a teenager and the creativity of the students on the air or in the kitchen continues to impress me,” said TITO's Dir./Operations VICTORIA REYES. “Every time we work with WSOU, we’ve been impressed by the station’s professionalism and ability to have fun. Our customers loved both the idea and taste of the Fat DJ Burrito and I expect the 89 Fries Quesadilla to be popular as well.”
WSOU Promotion Director TAYLA FREY, who led the effort to dream up the next creation with TITO's said, “We wanted something that reflected the station’s personality as a heavy metal station. A delicious quesadilla with a fiery kick proved to be perfect. All of us at WSOU are grateful to TITO’s for our ongoing collaboration. It’s fun to make something new that people love to eat.”
