LOS ANGELES has officially named the corner of SUNSET BOULEVARD and ARGYLE AVENUE, BERRY GORDY SQUARE to honor the MOTOWN RECORDS founder. The intersection was the former location of MOTOWN RECORDS after moving west from DETROIT in the early 1970s.
LOS ANGELES City Councilman MITCH O'FARRELL was a driving force in the city's official recognition and joined GORDY along with many MOTOWN family members, including SMOKEY ROBINSON and STEVIE WONDER for the ceremony.
