ENTERCOM News-Talk KDKA-A/PITTSBURGH morning co-host JOHN SHUMWAY is exiting the station after TODAY's show (11/27). The station has announced that SHUMWAY, who has been with the "KDKA MORNING NEWS" for 15 years, will be leaving to concentrate on his other job, as a reporter for CBS O&O KDKA-TV.
In a memo to staff, ENTERCOM PITTSBURGH SVP MICHAEL SPACCIAPOLLI said, "We have worked with JOHN to determine it is best for him to relinquish his radio responsibilities and focus his time on his extraordinary work as a general assignment reporter at KDKA-TV. JOHN has been the cohost of the KDKA RADIO MORNING NEWS for over 15 years -- his tireless work ethic and news judgment has been a cornerstone of KDKA Radio mornings. His integrity is unquestionable. Simply put, JOHN is one the most gifted, well-respected journalists in our city."
