Weekend changes at NEXSTAR News-Talk WGN-A/CHICAGO effective DECEMBER 7-8 include the introduction of a FRANK SINATRA show, the addition of a syndicated travel show, and some shifts and cancellations of existing shows.
ROBERTFEDER.COM reports that the new SINATRA show, "THE SINATRA HOURS," will be hosted by early SUNDAY host DAVE PLIER and will air 6:30-9a (CT). To make room for the show, "STEVE DALE'S PET WORLD" will move to 5:30a and "THE SUNDAY SPIN: POLITICS WITH RICK PEARSON" will go to 5p. PLIER will also host FRIDAY nights 11p-1a; his regular SUNDAY morning show will air 3-5a. The SINATRA show is not a first for a News-Talk station; SID MARK's "SUNDAY WITH SINATRA" has aired on WPHT-A/PHILADELPHIA for several decades.
Added for SATURDAY afternoons is PETER GREENBERG's syndicated travel show for 4-6p, and "WGN RADIO THEATRE WITH CARL AMARI AND LISA WOLF" will drop its SUNDAY airing and add two hours to its SATURDAY night airing to run 10p-3a. Dropped from the SATURDAY schedule are the SATURDAY edition of "WINTRUST BUSINESS LUNCH," "SATURDAY NIGHT SPECIAL WITH AMY GUTH," "ON THE ROAD WITH DANE NEAL," "THE BEAT," and "NOCTURNAL JOURNAL WITH DAVE HOEKSTRA," and off the SUNDAY lineup is BRIAN NOONAN's afternoon show.
In other SATURDAY changes, JOHN WILLIAMS' SATURDAY show moves from 10a-noon to 1-4p, with DAVID HOCHBERG taking 10a-noon; "STARTUP SHOWCASE WITH SCOTT KITUN" moves up an hour to noon-1p; and a weekend edition of "SPORTS TALK" and, seasonally, "WHITE SOX WEEKLY" will air 6-10p.
