DALLAS COWBOYS owner JERRY JONES' first appearance on the team's radio flagship ENTERCOM Sports KRLD-F (105.3 THE FAN)/DALLAS after the 'BOYS' embarrassing defeat by the CHICAGO BEARS on THURSDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL wasn't expected to find JONES in a good mood, but the sponsored segment turned testy and profane enough that the hosts' attempt to dump his swearing ended up dropping the entire call instead.
Appearing on FRIDAY's edition of the midday "K&C MASTERPIECE," JONES came out hostile to hosts KEVIN HAGELAND and CORY MAGEORS, responding to a question about whether the BEARS loss embarrassed him by retorting, "Get your damn act together yourself. O.K.? We're gonna have a good visit this morning, but settle down just a little bit... I don’t like your attitude to come in. I’ve been traveling all night and don’t have the patience to jack with you today... Let's get with it, let's ask some questions.” While he admitted the team did not play well and said that he understands fans' frustration, JONES, asked about the fate of coach JASON GARRETT, said that he can't talk about personnel decisions under league tampering rules and wouldn't tell the truth about them even if allowed, blurting "There are a while lotta times I have to bullsh-t the hell out of you. Do you understand bullsh-t?" and getting dumped.
The second profanity in short order triggering an automatic call drop by the station's delay system before the hosts could ask about the fan perception that the team had quit on GARRETT. HAGELAND and MAGEORS were momentarily confused by JONES' disappearance (HAGELAND exclaimed, "that was surreal, man!"), but PD GAVIN SPITTLE came into the studio to tell them that the delay system had cut off the call ("we hung up on JERRY?!?," HAGELAND exclaimed).
Once JONES returned to the air, he did discuss GARRETT ("when you quit on your coach then you quit on yourself") and he said he understands fan frustration, adding that "we all feel like hell." And when MAGEORS told JONES to "go fix this thing," JONES laughed, "Then I’ll move on to the country’s problems. Seriously. Seriously, man. That's fair. JERRY, do something. Go fix it, even if it's wrong. Go fix it."
