The syndicated ARMSTRONG & GETTY SHOW, based at iHEARTMEDIA News-Talk KSTE-A (TALK 650)/SACRAMENTO, raised about $1.2 million in the annual WARRIOR FOUNDATION-FREEDOM STATION Radiothon. Proceeds benefit the WFFS, which buys plane tickets for injured troops so they can return home to family for the holidays.
“We feel compelled to give back to those who served our country,” said co-host JOE GETTY. “We owe it, as Americans, to support these guys. Thankfully, our loyal listeners -- we call them friends of ARMSTRONG & GETTY -- agree with us wholeheartedly. We asked them to open their hearts and their wallets, and they once again astounded us with their generosity.”
“In all kinds of different ways, WFFS creates a buffer zone between combat and civilian life, providing our injured warriors with sanctuary, a sense of community and the tools they’ll need to rejoin society,” said co-host JACK ARMSTRONG. “We feel strongly that there is no better use of your patriot dollars, than in the form of a donation to WFFS.”
The show airs nationally on stations including CUMULUS News-Talk KGO-A/SAN FRANCISCO, TEGNA News-Talk KFMB-A/SAN DIEGO, iHEARTMEDIA News-Talk KEX-A/PORTLAND, ENTERCOM News-Talk KMBZ-F/KANSAS CITY, and iHEARTMEDIA News-Talk WWDC-HD2-W284CQ (WONK-FM)/WASHINGTON, DC. It will also air beginning in JANUARY on CUMULUS News-Talk KABC-A/LOS ANGELES. Find out more from CRAIG WHETSTINE at craig@armstrongandgetty.com.
