The WOMEN'S MUSIC BUSINESS ASSOCIATION hosted a benefit concert — “Play Away the Layaway” — at NASHVILLE’s MERCY LOUNGE, featuring EMMA WHITE, LOST STARS and LADY COUCH. Proceeds from ticket sales and contributions made at the show were donated to pay off holiday layaway balances for families in need in MIDDLE TENNESSEE. The event raised over $1,000, and WMBA members gathered at a local WALMART a few days later to pay off 13 holiday layaway balances for local families struggling to make payments on CHRISTMAS presents for their children.
WMBA President LAUREN SIMON commented, “It was a big priority for our group to take holiday philanthropy up a notch this year. Thanks to our incredible talent and our friends at MERCY LOUNGE, we were able to bring this event to life in an epic way.”
WMBA Marketing & Membership Chair KELSEY WISE added, “Hopefully, this event will continue to grow, so that we can spread even more holiday cheer next year.”
