The COX MEDIA GROUP radio stations in ATLANTA collected 13,121 pounds of food for the ATLANTA COMMUNITY FOOD BANK in four events this season. The food, and cash donations as well, were collected at Urban AC WALR (KISS 104.1)'s KISS Cares Community Food Drive on NOVEMBER 16th, News-Talk WSB-A-WSBB (95.5 WSB)'s Triple Team Traffic Food Drive on NOVEMBER 19th, AC WSB-F (B98.5)'s "TAD & DREX Stuff the Truck" on NOVEMBER 23rd, and Classic Hits WSRV (97.1 THE RIVER)'s "THE RIVER Stomps Out Hunger" on DECEMBER 3rd. The events were aided by participation from grocery chains KROGER and PUBLIX.
“Helping the communities we serve is one of the things that radio does best,” said Sr. Dir. of Operations CHRIS EAGAN. “We are proud to partner with the ATLANTA COMMUNITY FOOD BANK and do tremendous work for needy families in the ATLANTA area.”
"Thanks to the enormous generosity of COX MEDIA GROUP's listeners, GEORGIA families struggling with food insecurity will have access to even more nutritious meals this holiday season," said ATLANTA COMMUNITY FOOD BANK Chief Marketing Officer HEATHER SCHLESINGER. "All of the food donated at each of these four events will be distributed throughout the FOOD BANK's 29-county service area. This donation will go a long way for the people in our community!”
