HUBBARD AC KRWM (WARM 106.9)/SEATTLE has been busy in the past few weeks, and not only for its annual flip to all-CHRISTMAS music (NET NEWS 12/12), lending a hand in a caroling competition, broadcasting from a major food drive, co-sponsoring a charity run, and partnering for a SALVATION ARMY toy drive.
On DECEMBER 6th, the station helped raise $98,000 for PIKE MARKET SENIOR CENTER & FOOD BANK at the 33rd annual Great Figgy Pudding Caroling Competition at WESTLAKE CENTER in SEATTLE. The total represented a combination of registration fees from the 35 caroling groups and donations.

The following day, WARM 106.9 paired with crosstown TEGNA NBC affiliate KING-TV (KING 5) with four live broadcasts from locations around the region to encourage donations for NORTHWEST HARVEST's food drive, with the goal of raising 7 million meals. With two weeks left in the campaign, the drive has raised over 6.6 million meals.
On DECEMBER 8th, the station was part of the 35th SEATTLE Jingle Bell Run, the largest in the U.S., to raise over $320,000 for the ARTHRITIS FOUNDATION. And DECEMBER 9th marked the finale of the almost-month-long 17th annual TOY N JOY toy donation drive with the SALVATION ARMY, in which the campaign, which began on NOVEMBER 15th, raised $181,382 and a semi-truck full of toys.
