Radio is rising to the occasion in the wake of the terrible storms which rolled through NASHVILLE and surrounding areas in recent days.
MIDWEST COMMUNICATIONS' Top 40 WNFN (i106.7), along with AC sister WJXA (MIX 92.9) and Adult Hits WCJK (JACK-FM), took to the streets, collecting donations of food and supplies for those affected by the storms.
JOE BREEZY, brand manager for WNFN said, "We're very proud of our NASHVILLE community and how quickly our listeners took action. The power of local radio is alive and well and we're lucky to be able to help our neighbors."
OM BARBARA BRIDGES added, "I couldn't be more proud of our brands. We threw the plan for the day out the window and mobilized our people all over the city. It's been amazing to team up with this community and be a part of the relief effort! It really shows what radio can do in tragic situations!"
Helping Nashville In Need WCJK Brand Manager RON ALLEN thanked the area listeners who stopped by the local WALMART to help in the effort saying, "Our listeners were looking for a way to help and the efforts will continue around the clock until we rebuild even stronger."
