Former WCBS-A/New York Sports Director Ed Ingles Dies At 87

Longtime News WCBS-A/NEW YORK Sports Director ED INGLES has passed away at 87, the station is reporting.

The BRONX native began his career while at the UNIVERSITY OF GEORGIA, working at WRFC-A and WGAU-A/ATHENS, GA and WKEU-A/GRIFFIN, GA before moving on to WTOC-TV/SAVANNAH, UPI, and WPIX-F and WMCA-A/NEW YORK. He joined WCBS in MARCH 1973 and worked there for 24 years, also calling NEW YORK JETS football and ST. JOHN'S UNIVERSITY men's basketball. More recently, INGLES served as Professional in Residence at HOFSTRA UNIVERSITY Variety WRHU/HEMPSTEAD, NY.
