The PAWTUCKET RED SOX are spending their final season in RHODE ISLAND this year before moving to WORCESTER, MA in the 2021 season, but the BOSTON RED SOX' Triple A affiliate will be heard on the radio this season in advance of the move, airing on CUMULUS Country WORC (98.9 NASH ICON)/WORCESTER, according to MASSLIVE.COM.
NASH ICON will also serve as the WOOSOX's weekday flagship once the move is completed, with Classic Hits WWFX (THE PIKE 100 FM) airing weekend games. The minor league team's current network is flagshipped by iHEARTMEDIA News-Talk WHJJ-A-W284BA/PROVIDENCE.
The PAWSOX also announced that PORTLAND SEA DOGS radio voice MIKE ANTONELLIS is moving up to join JOSH MAURER and JIM CAIN to call the games. ANTONELLIS served as the SEA DOGS radio announcer for the last 15 years; he replaces MIKE MONACO, who is calling BOSTON RED SOX spring training games on NESN and is working at ESPN's ACC NETWORK.
