The ACADEMY OF COUNTRY MUSIC (ACM) and DICK CLARK PRODUCTIONS (DCP) announced this morning that its “The 55th ACM Awards” will now air on WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 16th. KEITH URBAN is still set to host the show, which will air live on CBS TELEVISION NETWORK from 8-11p (ET). A city and venue for the show have not yet been announced. Performers will also be revealed at a later date.
As previously reported, the show was postponed from its original air date of SUNDAY, APRIL 5th due to the COVID-19 pandemic (NET NEWS 3/16). It had been set to air from the MGM GRAND GARDEN ARENA in LAS VEGAS. The ACM and DCP later announced that taking its place on the original APRIL date and time would be a new special, “ACM Presents: Our Country,” featuring vintage ACM Awards show clips and Country artists performing acoustically from their homes (NET NEWS 3/19).
