MUSIC BUSINESS WORLDWIDE is reporting that the COVID-19 crisis is expected to halt ITALY's recorded music growth in 2020. In 2019, an ITALY-based recorded music association, FIMI, reported trade revenue up 8.2% ($278 million).
Today (3/24), FIMI issued a warning to the global record industry. In a statement, FIMI forecast that "COVID-19 will stop (the ITALIAN record industry's) growth in 2020." FIMI noted that the market is showing "signs of crisis with potentially extremely serious effects in the coming months."
