According to reports from the BOSTON HERALD, a heated battle is underway between MAYNARD HIGH SCHOOL in MAYNARD, MA and LIVING PROOF MINISTRIES over the use of the 91.7 frequency. The MAYNARD HIGH SCHOOL radio station has been broadcasting under the WAVM call letters on the 91.7 frequency for 35 years. However, when they recently filed with the FCC to increase their transmitter frequency from 10 to 250 watts, the FCC ruled that LIVING PROOF MINISTRIES is a better use of the public airwaves. MAYNARD HIGH SCHOOL has 30 days to file an appeal and has already done so, but if the FCC fails to overturn their decision, WAVM will go dark.
