KCKC (KC 102.1)/Kansas City Hosts 'Virtual Field Trips'

STEEL CITY MEDIA AC KCKC (KC 102.1)/KANSAS CITY did virtual field trips every day last week by going live on FACEBOOK, taking people on tours of the studio and station. 

Morning host JEN JOHNSON shared with ALL ACCESS, "We got nice TV coverage, lots of good questions about radio, and great comments about the videos.'

JOHNSON, who has two daughters in grade school, says the idea came to her while she looked for ways to supplement her own kids’ education. “Starting MONDAY, we’re officially off spring break, and starting to teach at home. I’ve been looking for all types of different resources, and I thought a virtual field trip would be a great way to continue off-site education that kids would otherwise be missing out on. Learning online will be a major part of our new normal for the rest of this school year.”
