Congratulations to INTERSCOPE RECORDS' act 5 SECONDS OF SUMMER, whose new album C A L M debuted this week on the BILLBOARD 200 with over 133,000 equivalent album units sold, just missing #1 by 5000 units. Just last week, a clerical shipping error saw 11,000 CD sales appear in the chart one week early. The album debuted at #1 on the Top Album Sales chart selling over 113,000 in physical album sales and is #1 in the U.K and AUSTRALIA.
It's the band's first full-length for the label and was primarily made with producer ANDREW WATT (POST MALONE, CAMILA CABELLO). The release was preceded by a number of singles from the set including the Top 20 Pop song "Teeth," and current single, "Old Me," which made its debut this week on the MEDIABASE Top 40 Chart.
"These new songs feel like something we could keep playing for the next ten years, or even beyond that," says bassist CALUM HOOD. "It feels like our first album — like we finally found what we'd been trying to achieve since the beginning of this band."
