Podcast platform ACAST is launching a "Staycast" campaign encouraging podcast listeners everywhere to stay at home during the COVID-19 CORONAVIRUS pandemic.
The campaign includes messages on thousands of the network’s shows and a social media campaign including INSTAGRAM Live, IGTV, and Stories with Q&As with podcasters, live classes and tutorials, listening parties, and live episodes. The company is also encouraging new podcasters to get started with three months' free access to its paid tiers, while trials on ACAST's Open free platform were up by 49% month-to-month in MARCH. Despite the pandemic's effects on daily life worldwide, the network says that listenership to its podcasts during the past three weekends is at record-breaking levels, with weekend listens up +13.5%.
VP of Brand LIZZY POLLOTT said, “Podcasts -- whether listening to or making them -- have always been a perfect source of distraction, entertainment or information. Now, during isolation times, we’re seeing listens across our network grow stronger than ever — and we’re seeing some great new shows and spin-offs being born, too.
"We are so proud to be able to bring the most recognizable voices in podcasting together to support the guidance of public health officials and the government, while offering even more great entertainment and resources to those at home."
