ENTERCOM Top 40 KLUC/LAS VEGAS on-air personality OMARI MITCHELL remains hospitalized with symptoms of the CORONAVIRUS, but appears on the road to recovery, according to a story in the local REVIEW-JOURNAL..
MITHCELL first felt some of the symptoms -- a tight chest, difficulty breathing and a fever -- on MARCH 29th, and checked himself into SOUTHERN HILLS HOSPITAL and MEDICAL CENTER, assuring his 15-year-old daughter ANIYA he would soon return. He is still there.
MITCHELL was quickly admitted into the intensive care unit when he arrived, was hooked up to a ventilator and placed in a medically induced coma.
The CENTERS FOR DISEASE CONTROL AND PREVENTION has warned that some patients initially will experience only mild symptoms, then “rapidly deteriorate one week after illness onset.”
“It was traumatic for ANIYA,” said GREG RITCHIE, OMARI's best friend. “Her dad didn’t come back, and now she’s quarantined. MITCHELL has since begun to recover, working closely with speech and physical therapists and insists KLUC has been "absolutely amazing and supportive."
RITCHIE has set up a GOFUNDME to raise money for OMARI's medical bills and ANIYA’s care.
