ENTERCOM is citing data from TRITON showing that despite softness in the podcast listening market since the onset of the COVID-19 CORONAVIRUS pandemic in the U.S., ENTERCOM's CADENCE13 and PINEAPPLE STREET STUDIOS podcasts have shown significant gains in listenership in MARCH.
The company says that it hit a record of 28 million listeners worldwide in MARCH, with listenership increasing across most categories since FEBRUARY 14th, including up 60% for society and culture podcasts, 34% in true crime, 27% for news and politics, 26% in music, and 23% in arts. The company cited "UNLOCKING US WITH BRENÉ BROWN" and "AMERICA DISSECED: CORONAVIRUS" as the best-performing new titles, and pointed to big gains for "ORIGINS WITH JAMES ANDREW MILLER" (up 184%), "HACKS ON TAP" (178%), "JILL ON MONEY" (80%), CROOKED MEDIA's "POD SAVE AMERICA" (48%), and "THE TRYPOD" (21%).
