ADAMS RADIO GROUP Pres./CEO RON STONE's proposed one-day nationwide fundraising effort to benefit FEEDING AMERICA (NET NEWS 4/9) now has a pair of major partners involved, with SUN BROADCAST GROUP and BENZTOWN joining the effort for the nationwide campaign on APRIL 30th. SBG will help get the message out via its 6,000 affiliates and BENZTOWN will provide audio and video for participating stations. STONE proposed the campaign and the founding of the INDEPENDENT BROADCASTERS ASSOCIATION to help provide relief in the COVID-19 CORONAVIRUS pandemic.
STONE said, “This radio partnership with FEEDING AMERICA continues to grow every day and in ways we had not dreamed possible... we are learning more by the minute about this hunger crisis in AMERICA and radio is once again proving that we will be on the front lines and doing everything we can to help families in communities small and large. Having access to (SBG) stations provides tremendous added reach for our message and having the professionals of BENZTOWN producing the product we will be using puts this event in a category of radiothons that have been around for decades.”
“This is a great example of how the radio community shines as we come together to help those in need,” said SBG COO JULIO APONTE. “Our goal is to help the FEEDING AMERICA organization deliver their message across the country using our millions of listeners and thousands of station partners. We are truly honored to be able to contribute, along with many other great radio companies, to this great organization and important initiative.”
BENZTOWN Pres. DAVE "CHACHI" DENES added, "BENZTOWN has long been committed to doing whatever we can to help people who are struggling to feed themselves and their families, through our ongoing work with the LOS ANGELES REGIONAL FOOD BANK, a FEEDING AMERICA food bank. It's a natural extension of that commitment to work with broadcasters across the country to help stations raise awareness, food and funds in their local communities during this challenging time. We are proud to be a supporting partner of this important and timely effort to help people in need, by helping radio do what it does best: Rally communities around solving urgent local issues and improving the quality of life in those communities."
