Country star ZAC BROWN has put his NASHVILLE recording studio, SOUTHERN GROUND, on the market for $10 million, the NASHVILLE SCENE reports. The move comes after the GEORGIA-based singer cancelled the rest of his touring plans for 2020 and laid off most of his crew as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The lead singer of the ZAC BROWN BAND had owned the midtown property on 17th AVENUE near MUSIC ROW since 2012, when he paid $900,000 for it, according to THE SCENE. The new listing includes the 9,100 square foot building, the studio equipment and a two-parcel, 0.31-acre property. BROWN reportedly put $4 million worth of updates and renovations into the building’s interior and exterior since its purchase.
The building has a musical history. According to THE SCENE, the former church was purchased and converted into a recording studio by MONUMENT RECORDS founder FRED FOSTER in 1968.
