EAS, "Truth" Bills Head To Senate Floor

The Senate Commerce Committee has sent bills regarding the Emergency Alert System and identification of government-produced news segments to the full Senate floor for a vote. The "Warning, Alert, and Response Network Act" would establish a new EAS system for all forms of communications, while the "Truth in Broadcasting Act" requires that all video or audio news releases produced by the government be clearly labeled as such.
