Condolences to family and friends of longtime TOLEDO TV and radio host and newsman DON EDWARDS, who died WEDNESDAY of cancer at 82. EDWARDS, who had worked in radio and TV in ROCHESTER, MN and FLINT, MI, started in the market at WTOL-TV in 1962, moving to mornings at WSPD-A in 1973 and later hosting at crosstown WCWA-A and WWWM. He joined NBC affiliate WNWO-TV in 1990, retiring in 1996. EDWARDS was also the father-in-law of CUMULUS/TOLEDO News Director LONDON MITCHELL.
EDWARDS' family has requested that donations be made to the HOSPICE OF NORTHWEST OHIO, 30000 East River Road, PERRYSBURG, OH 43551, or ST. ANDREW'S EPISCOPAL CHURCH, 2770 W Central Ave., TOLEDO, OH 43606.
