Can you be fired for what's in the profile of your MYSPACE page? According to the AMARILLO GLOBE NEWS (1/28), former TEJAS BROADCASTING Rhythmic AC KBZD (ENERGY 99-7)/AMARILLO PD/morning co-host JUSTIN TYME was fired (NET NEWS 1/22) for the contents had on his MYSPACE page, www.myspace.com/radiotyme.

The paper quotes TEJAS CFO DERRICK VARNELL: "We felt he was a threat to our reputation (in AMARILLO) and a threat to the society as a whole by publishing such things on websites that are associated with us. The content of some of those blog entries of JUSTIN, on those websites, entailed sexual solicitations. Those are inappropriate [and] inconsistent with what we allow through our company policy, and he was terminated because of that."

TYME, who's real name is JUSTIN PASCULLO, told the paper that he "was fired because the company's chief executive saw his MYSPACE profile and reportedly said that it 'promoted homosexuality.' PASCULLO, who said he used his personal email for work because TEJAS did not provide him an email account, said he was fired because of a line on his MYSPACE profile in which he said who he sleeps with shouldn't be any concern to anyone."
