The iHeartMedia RIF Enters Second Week

The RIF Rolls On

In one of the more extensive reduction in force (RIF) rollouts, iHEARTMEDIA continues into a second week with the goal to reshape itself with an eye toward the future and its staffing needs to support radio, podcasting, the iHEARTRADIO platform and so many other initiatives.

Many of these changes are dictated by the financial pressure of COVID-19 on the economy at large and the trickle-down effect on advertising/marketing as well as the need to take iHEARTMEDIA's many live events into a virtual mode.

In the end, hundreds of employees are being affected by the change in duties caused by the RIF, and those who've lost employment are now job hunting in a very difficult time when the COVID-19 pandemic is raging with staggering infection and death numbers adding to the drag on the economy.
