Townsquare Media/Amarillo, TX, Taps Michael Rivera As Director Of Content

Former iHEARTMEDIA Country KHEY/EL PASO, TX and Country KBQI (BIG I 107-9)/ALBUQUERQUE PD/afternoon driver MICHAEL RIVERA has joined TOWNSQUARE MEDIA AMARILLO, TX, as its new Director Of Content. He will oversee programming for Hot AC KMXJ (MIX 94.1), Country KATP (101.9 THE BULL), Classic Rock KPRF (THUNDER 98.7), Top 40 KXSS (96.9 KISS FM) and News Talk KIXZ. He started in the new role on DECEMBER 14th.

Prior to joining TOWNSQUARE, RIVERA was iHEART’s PD of Spoken Word formats, and oversaw operations for News-Talk KTSM-A and Sports KHEY-A/EL PASO. He also previously programmed KVET, KASE-FM and KFMK/AUSTIN. RIVERA was among the many iHEART staffers cut at the beginning of the company’s most recent reduction in force, which began in early NOVEMBER.
