Former BICOASTAL MEDIA KRWQ (Q100.3)/MEDFORD, OR PD/morning show co-host ASHLEY MAIN has joined her former co-host, JASON ALLEN, as the new morning team at GRANTS PASS BROADCASTING’s new Classic Country KRRM/GRANTS PASS, OR. They will debut on MONDAY, JANUARY 4th when the station launches at 6a (PT) using the slogan "Your Brand of Country." MAIN departed KRWQ in late OCTOBER after almost six years at the station (NET NEWS 10/30). ALLEN joined GRANTS PASS earlier this month after more than 12 years with BICOASTAL MEDIA (NET NEWS 12/21).
GRANTS PASS closed on its $150,000 purchase of the formerly silent KRRM from the estate of the late SHIRLEY M. BELL earlier this week (NET NEWS 12/28). The sale was announced in JULY (NET NEWS 7/23).
In addition to the morning show, KRRM’s new airstaff will include BRENDA FRITSEN in middays, TOM RAY in afternoons and CASSIE CALLAS in nights. FRITSEN is PD of sister stations AC/Classic Hits KAJO and Top 40 KLDR and morning host at KLDR. She adds PD duties for KRRM as well. RAY does mornings and afternoons at KAJO. Fifteen year GRANTS PASS veteran CALLAS currently hosts nights at KLDR, but will be replaced there by MAIN, who will handle that shift in addition to her morning show at KRRM.
See more about KRRM's new lineup in the video below, where CALLAS, "I have always been a Country fan, and not new Country, 'cause we all know new Country is not real Country. So I am very excited to be going with Classic Country."
MAIN posted on FACEBOOK, “I am sooooo freaking pumped to be headed back to morning radio, and with JASON, my morning show partner for the last six years! I haven't been this energized since I first moved to OREGON. I'm so excited to be a part of a legit team who, in a short time, I already consider family. Get ready ... 1-4-2021. (As a disclaimer that I feel is important to share, this was not something I was planning for when I left BICOASTAL. But let's be honest, when you're passionate about something, it finds you and doesn't let go.)”
Said ALLEN, “Stoked to be working with the team at GRANTS PASS BROADCASTING, and even more excited to do what we were born to do! You all put your faith in us and it’s time to make ya’ll proud! Let’s get it ASHLEY!”
