MIDWEST COMMUNICATIONS/DULUTH-SUPERIOR VP/Market Mgr. SHAWN SKRAMSTAD has given word that he's retiring after a 47-year radio career that began in programming before his shift to sales. Dir. of Sales SCOTT CHRISTENSEN will oversee the sales and day-to-day operation until SKRAMSTAD’s successor is named at the seven-station cluster.
SKRAMSTAD joined MIDWEST COMMUNICATIONS/DULUTH-SUPERIOR in Spring 2017 after 18 years with RED ROCK RADIO CORP, where he was VP/GM for the DULUTH stations for 15 years before being upped to President of the 25-station group in 2014 (NET NEWS 3/4/14).
“I appreciate finishing out my career with MIDWEST COMMUNICATIONS,” said SKRAMSTAD. “I’ve done everything that I wanted to do in this business and it’s been a great ride.”
MIDWEST Pres./CEO DUKE WRIGHT said, “SHAWN was instrumental in ensuring MIDWEST is the leading broadcasting operator in northern MINNESOTA with great facilities and the best people in the business.”
