CBS NEWS President ANDREW HEYWARD wil exit the company at the end of the year, when his contract expires.
HEYWARD, whose tenure at the top of the TV and radio news organization was marked by the DAN RATHER-MARY MAPES "60 MINUTES WEDNESDAY" "Memogate" scandal and TV ratings declines, will be replaced by CBS SPORTS Pres. SEAN MCMANUS, who will run both the news and sports divisions. MCMANUS will start on NOVEMBER 7, while HEYWARD will "assist in the transition" before departing at the end of the year, according to a network statement.
