The BAKA BOYZ are returning to live morning radio, as they join Top 40/Rhythmic XMOR (BLAZIN' 98.9)/SAN DIEGO for 6-10a.
"There has been a lot of conjecture and rumor regarding exactly what BLAZIN’ would be doing into 2007, following our changes pre-CHRISTMAS," explains MEC NETWORK OM/Brand & Marketing LEE CORNELL, "but as we stated at the time, our aim was always to build a bigger, better, and broader appeal Hip Hop/Rhythmic station for SAN DIEGO listeners. The BAKA BOYZ and ERIC and NICK VIDAL are premier talent and proven major-market radio performers, and we’re excited to be bringing them back to the West Coast. The BAKA BOYZ will lead the new lineup of BLAZIN’ 98.9 FM into 2007, and some exciting new broadcast initiatives."
The station already features the SUPERADIO syndicated BAKA BOYZ HIP HOP MASTERMIX program FRIDAY nights at 5p.
BAKA BOYZ Manager GARY BERNSTEIN, says "This is a very unique situation whereby the deal has a top-secret second component that will ensure the program and the station have unprecedented access to HOLLYWOOD, the West Coast, and pretty much the entire world in a manner that shatters the mold on all previous applications. Plus, this deal is the first wave of several different syndication platforms that are being developed that will further enhance their brand. Let's just say MEC stands also stands for 'More Exciting Content' on the way."
