Longtime AUDACY Sports WFAN-A-F/NEW YORK METS reporter EDDIE COLEMAN has announced his retirement from the station he joined at its 1987 launch, reports NEWSDAY's NEIL BEST.

COLEMAN has been hosting METS pre-game and post-game shows on sister News WCBS-A and has been filling in for HOWIE ROSE on METS play-by-play when ROSE is out. COLEMAN told BEST that he chose to leave because he did not want to travel to cover the team and did not want to miss watching daughter EMMA play lacrosse at BRYANT UNIVERSITY this season. He also said he would be available to fill in as needed.
