AMBER ATHEY's tenure as a co-host of CUMULUS News/Talk WMAL/WASHINGTON's morning "O'CONNOR AND COMPANY" has come to an end, and ATHEY, WASHINGTON editor at conservative magazine THE SPECTATOR, alleges that she was fired for making a TWITTER joke about Vice President KAMALA HARRIS' attire at the State of the Union address that likened HARRIS' brown suit to a UPS uniform.
ATHEY, who had co-hosted with LARRY O'CONNOR since JANUARY, wrote at THE SPECTATOR that she had tweeted "KAMALA looks like a UPS employee -- what can brown do for you? Nothing good, apparently." After subsequently making incendiary comments about trans youth, she claims that "a group of maniacal left-wing activists who want to chemically castrate children in the name of 'gender affirmation' came after me" and contacted WMAL about her bigotry, pointing to the tweet. She said that CUMULUS WASHINGTON VP JEFF BODEN and HR VP KRISTON FANCELLAS called her, told her the tweet was racist, and her reactions to the protests were unacceptable and violated the company's social media policy.
In the article. ATHEY urges conservatives to "flood the same generic contact form that was used to fire me. Tag CUMULUS and WMAL on TWITTER and let them know what you think of their spineless decision-making."
