Dustin Matthews Now Interim PD at WDYL

RADIO Alternative WDYL (Y101)/RICHMOND MD/afternooner DUSTIN "FLETCHER" MATTHEWS has been tapped Interim PD.  MATTHEWS is holding down the fort until a new PD is named to replace MIKE MURPHY, now at INFINITY Talk/Alternative WHFS/BALTIMORE. 

Following last week's exit of morning man/specialty show host CHARLIE, Promo guy SPECIAL ED is now hosting the SUNDAY night specialty show "UNDEREXPOSED."  "He was a college MD for like 17 years, so he's well qualified," said MATTHEWS.

Also, WDYL just kicked off "SHOW US YOUR CANS 2005." Y101 is hitting the streets encouraging listeners to make a canned food donation to the CENTRAL VIRGINIA FOOD BANK in exchange for free Y101 loot. A free benefit show with local bands is slated for NOVEMBER 5th featuring DELEGATE, ALABAMA THUNDER PUSSY, SIN CITY REVIVAL, SEARCHING FOR TIMOTHY, and ONE YEAR TOMORROW.
