What did you take away from the 2022 ALL ACCESS AUDIO SUMMIT this week? ALL ACCESS Editor-in-Chief PERRY MICHAEL SIMON noticed a repeated refrain among some prominent panelists over the two days of sessions, and in this week's "THE LETTER" column, he asks the question posed by those comments: Why is radio using the same playbook today that it did decades ago, when so much else has changed?
SIMON writes, "Things have changed. Things always change. Tried and true can become untrue in an instant. When the competition is different and public tastes are different and consumers' behavior is different, sticking to the playbook you came up with decades ago is probably not the winning formula you think it is."
