ALPHA MEDIA Rock WMFX (FOX 102.3)/COLUMBIA, SC afternoon personality BENJI NORTON has died, according to a post at the station website. No cause of death has been announced.

At the station's FACEBOOK page, a post read, "Always the SPIRIT of FOX, BENJI filled the lives of those around him with laughter and plenty of smiles! We are wishing BENJI’s family courage and peace during this time of mourning."

NORTON began his radio career at age 17 and worked at WJMX/FLORENCE, SC, Top 40 WZLD (Z96), Classic Hits WOMG, and Sports WNKT (107.5 THE GAME)/COLUMBIA, SC,  and Oldies WMAK/NASHVILLE.
