PRESS COMMUNICATIONS Classic Rock WWZY/WBHX (107-1 THE BOSS)/LONG BRANCH, NJ, is bringing back a long standing tri-state area radio tradition, JOE NOLAN's "First Day of Summer." The event is set to take place FRIDAY MAY 27th starting at 6a at the CRAB'S CLAW in LAVALETTE, right on the JERSEY shore.
This year will feature live performances by NINE DAYS' JOHN HAMPSON, AMERICAN IDOL contestant and NEW JERSEY native COLE HALLMAN. JOE NOLAN, morning traffic anchor for ROBBY AND ROCHELLE will also do his famous tribute to the GARDEN STATE, playing BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN's "Born to Run". The station will broadcast starting with AM drive and go through the afternoon.
PD/Morning Co-host ROBBY BRIDGES said, "This tradition began as a beloved annual event on the late great WPLJ (where Joe and I first worked together) and its a thrill to bring it back to the airwaves for the first time in a few years right here on 107.1 THE BOSS!"
NOLAN added, "It's gonna be fun, a good day!"
Proceeds from the event will benefit The Maureen E. Nolan Foundation, which provides tuition assistance to graduates of NEW JERSEY Catholic High Schools to attend an accredited, four-year institution of higher learning. Click here for more information on the event.
