IAB Podcast Upfront 2022 Gets Underway

Day one of the three-day IAB PODCAST UPFRONT 2022 included some new podcast announcements amidst the pitches to advertisers and promotion of existing shows.
DISNEY EVP/Sales ADAM MONACO announced that the company's podcast portfolio will now be represented by DISNEY's own sales organization DISNEY ADVERTISING; a new podcast version of ABC television's "GMA 3" is being launched as well, and the company announced a new podcast from ABC AUDIO, "LET THE WORLD SEE," focusing on EMMITT TILL's mother, and new "30 FOR 30" podcasts from ESPN including a companion to "THE GREATEST MIXTAPE EVER," "A STREETBALL MIXTAPE," hosted by SET FREE RICHARDSON, and "THE PINK CARD," the story of the women who fought to be allowed to attend a soccer match in IRAN, produced by SHIMA OLILEE.
BOSTON UNIVERSITY News-Talk WBUR/BOSTON highlighted the previously-announced climate change podcast "GREAT JOB EVERYONE," while iHEARTMEDIA's WILL PEARSON and CONAL BYRNE said that their company will be adding an LGBTQ+ podcast network later this SUMMER, as well as new shows from existing partners, including a new entry from "THE DAILY SHOW," "HOLD UP," as part of iHEART's production deal with PARAMOUNT, eight new shows from the "Next Up" incubator program, and more from TENDERFOOT TV and WILL FERRELL's BIG MONEY PLAYERS NETWORK.
Also presenting were NPR and MATIONAL PUBLIC MEDIA, PARAMOUNT, LAist STUDIOS, GUMBALL, and APM STUDIOS KIDS & FAMILY, along with segments from VERITONIC and SPOKENLAYER.
