GRAHAM "SKIP" DILLARD has been named PD of CBS Top 40/Rhythmic WPGC/WASHINGTON by SVP/GM SAM ROGERS. The appointment is effective on MONDAY, MARCH 12. DILLARD most recently was OM for RADIO ONE’s three-station cluster in DETROIT. He also served as PD for then-CBS WBLK/BUFFALO from 1996-2003.
"While it’s a tall task, I can’t think of anyone I’d rather have lead our outstanding, local airstaff than SKIP," said ROGERS. "He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in this format and will be instrumental in taking DC’s #1 station to even greater heights. His most important asset, however, may be his commitment to the community in which he lives which is directly in line with WPGC’s long history of giving back to the DC area."
Commented DILLARD, "If I had the ability to choose any station I wanted to program in my career, WPGC’s famous call letters would rank at the top of my list. From the music, to WPGC’s 'inclusive' attitude, to its dedication to the DC community, I thank God for this once in a career opportunity and look forward to continuing WPGC’s winning ways."
DILLARD’s on-air programming experience includes WYLD/NEW ORLEANS, WMXD/DETROIT, WBLK/BUFFALO, KPTI/SAN FRANCISCO and OM of RADIO ONE/DETROIT (WDMK, WCHB-A, WHTD). He took a year off from radio in 2003 to work as Managing Top 40/Urban Editor for BILLBOARD MAGAZINE’s "Airplay Monitor" in NEW YORK.
