Dick Rakovan, Former RAB SVP/Membership And Radio Manager, Dies At 83

DICK RAKOVAN, the former SVP/Membership of the RADIO ADVERTISING BUREAU and a longtime radio manager, died on MAY 16th in CRYSTAL LAKE, IL. He was 83.

"RACKETS" started as an AE at WKBW-A/BUFFALO and worked his way up the CAPITAL CITIES ladder to management positions at WPAT-A-F/NEW YORK, WJR-A/DETROIT, and WPRO-A-F/PROVIDENCE, moving on to OUTLET BROADCASTING, WWRC-A-WGAY-F/WASHINGTON,  and WFYR/CHICAGO before joining the RAB in 1995.

A mass will be held in CRYSTAL LAKE on THURSDAY (5/26) at 10a (CT) at ST. THOMAS CATHOLIC CHURCH. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to a GOFUNDME fundraiser for clean drinking water in a village in SRI LANKA, honoring a caregiver from that village who cared for RAKOVAN during his illness.
