Judge Upholds Own Ruling That KVI/Seattle Hosts' Ballot Measure Talk Was Contribution

A WASHINGTON state judge upheld his own previous ruling that commentary by KVI-A/SEATTLE hosts KIRBY WILBUR and JOHN CARLSON in support of a proposed ballot initiative constituted campaign contributions. 

THURSTON COUNTY Superior Court Judge CHRIS WICKHAM on WEDNESDAY (10/26) upheld his decision that the hosts' support for Initiative 912, a repeal of the new 9.5 cent/gallon increase in the gas tax, was a contribution because, he decided, the two were the prioncipal organizers of the campaign, a characterization strenuously disputed by the hosts. The initiative's supporting organization will appeal the case.
