Report: Judge In Eminem Publishing Case Denies Spotify Summary Judgement Motion Against Kobalt

A Federal judge has denied streaming service SPOTIFY's motion for a summary judgement against KOBALT in the ongoing case filed by EMINEM's publishing company over their claim against SPOTIFY, reports DIGITAL MUSIC NEWS.

The case filed in 2019, seeks $36 million in damages from SPOTIFY's infringement of publishing rights. SPOTIFY claims that EMINEM's publishing company, EIGHT MILE STYLE, had licensed its use through its agent, KOBALT. The denial of SPOTIFY's motion means that the trial will continue.
