Kristofferson To Receive Johnny Cash Visionary Award

Country legend KRIS KRISTOFFERSON will be presented with the JOHNNY CASH VISIONARY AWARD at the 2007 CMT AWARDS. The award is given to a group or individual that has changed the face of Country music through their uncompromising approach. 

KRISTOFFERSON was chosen for his legendary songwriting as well as his unwillingness to fit in the mold the music industry designed. Past recipients include the DIXIE CHICKS, JOHNNY CASH, REBA McENTIRE, LORETTA LYNN and HANK WILLIAMS JR. On hand to present the honor to KRISTOFFERSON will be CASH's daughter and singer/songwriter ROSANNE CASH. The show will broadcast live from NASHVILLE on MONDAY, APRIL 16 on CMT.
