Pioneer, DJ Times Search For America's Best DJ

The Search Is On

PIONEER ELECTRONICS' Pro Audio & Video Division today announced its collaboration with DJ TIMES magazine to find "AMERICA's Best DJ" through sponsored DJ events and online voting. The top 40 DJs will have a chance to perform in the Summer Tour, a series of 40 PIONEER- and DJ TIMES-sponsored venues held around the U.S., to prove he or she is the top jock of 2007 and AMERICA’s Best DJ. The search process kicks off this month at the WINTER Music Conference in MIAMI and will conclude when the winner is announced this AUGUST in IBIZA, SPAIN.

"There's a lot of undiscovered DJ talent across the country, and we're hoping to find it with this event," said PIONEER Pro Audio & Video VP/Sales & Marketing NEIL ALTNEU. "DJs have become an integral part of the music culture, and we're making it possible for them to show off their talents through our DJ products."

In addition to participating at club events across the country, competing DJs will have a voting page online, where fans can cast their votes. The contest is also supported by SIRIUS SATELLITE RADIO and BEATPORT.COM.
