WCRB/Boston On The Block

CHARLES RIVER BROADCASTING is considering a sale of its Classical WCRB/BOSTON and has hired broker MEDIA SERVICES GROUP to shop the station and possibly the company's other properties, including Classical WFCC/CAPE COD and WCRI/BLOCK ISLAND, RI, the WORLD CLASSICAL NETWORK, and CLassic Rock WKPE/CAPE COD. 

WCRB was bequeathed to a trust that owns most of CHARLES RIVER BROADCASTING by TED JONES, who did so to keep the station in the Classical format but did not make the format a legal requirement, but keeping the station classical will likely be made a condition of any sale. CHARLES RIVER is now being overseen by board member and veteran radio manager/owner HERB MCCORD while CEO BILL CAMPBELL is on medical leave.
