Charlie Gracie, Known For '50s Hit 'Butterfly,' Dies At 86

1950s rock and roll artist CHARLIE GRACIE has died at the age of 86. GRACIE, a PHILADELPHIA native, had been battling illness after getting COVID-19 in APRIL of 2022 and passed away on DECEMBER 16th; he topped the BILLBOARD jukebox chart in 1957 with the single "Butterfly." The subsequent single "Fabulous" reached number 16 on the chart.
GRACIE had a career resurgence in the late 1970s with the reissue of his music plus a run opening on the road for VAN MORRISON.
